An Interview with blogger Jess from 'The adorable dork'

Hello Jess! I hope you're doing well.
Thank you so much for agreeing to be interviewed, it’s great to have you over on Head-full-of-flowers! I thought we could start off by you introducing yourself a little to everyone; where you’re from, what you do, your interests and the story behind your lovely blog.

Hello Everyone!
I'm Jess of http://theadorabledork.blogspot.co.uk and I'm from South-East England! I'm currently at Sixth Form studying Ancient History, Classical Civilisation and English Lit which I'm loving! I have an addiction to lipstick, nail polish, haribo and good books. Obviously I also have a special place in my heart for history!
I started my blog last August after reading Adorkable by Sarra Manning (one of my favourite books!) and getting inspired to write and reach out to other people from all around the world!

Fantastic! I might just have to give Adorkable a read! Can you tell us: what’s your favourite topic to write about or your favourite kind of post?

I love doing review posts because it's great to tell people about products or books that I've been loving! I also like my thoughts/musings posts as it's nice to just write everything down and clear my head!
oo I love your thoughts/musings posts! What’s your favourite post of yours so far and why?
I don't know if I have a favourite post but I really liked creating my most recent post! (http://theadorabledork.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/new-phone.html)

I’ve read on your blog that you’re planning to go to Uni. That’s great! What one piece of advice would you offer to someone your age considering their options?

I think that if you're applying for UCAS, you shouldn't worry about it. Once it's gone, you can't do anything but wait so what is the point in worrying? The universities will get back to you eventually so just be patient! I didn't hear anything from any university for two weeks and it can even take longer so be patient and good things will come! Also, make sure you've visited the universities because the atmosphere will just feel right at one (or more) of them, I found that when I visited some unis, they just felt right and others weren't as good as they appeared on the website or in the prospectus! You also shouldn't feel pressured into going to uni, if you don't want to then don't! It's an individual choice that you and you alone can make.

Great advice! What would you say are your top three blogs to read?

 http://www.thecollegeprepster.com - I read Carly's blog every morning!
http://someonelikeyou18.blogspot.co.uk - Lauren is honestly the loveliest bigger bloggers I know and she always has time for her viewers!
http://www.classygirlswearpearls.com - I am SO jealous of Sarah's life - she has the most gorgeous clothes and seems to live the perfect lifestyle, her blog is great!

I love Lauren's blog too! Now, is there anything you simply can't leave the house without?

I never leave home without my emergency bag kit (http://theadorabledork.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/emergency-bag-kit.html), a book and an umbrella (got to love English weather!)

Ah yes, good ol'England. Can you tell us, what's your wardrobe and vanity case must-haves/staples?

I couldn't live without my straight leg jeans, snow boots (fur lined and so warm!) and my crew v-neck knits for my wardrobe and my must-have make up pieces are a good red lipstick (107 Kate Matte lipstick by Rimmel is my favourite currently), Essie nail polishes and BadGal lash mascara by Benefit. I also love my limited edition Alice in Wonderland Urban Decay palette.
I must try Essie at some point! Can you advise us, what four beauty related things do you think girls should do religiously?
I don't do anything religiously to be honest and everyone is different but I would say that the only thing is probably moisturising to keep your skin soft and smooth!
I definitely agree, moistutrising is always a good idea. So, where do you see your blog in a year? Do you have any special posts coming up?
I hope that I keep going with my blog and that more people see my blog because I love seeing that people are reading what I have to say! I don't have any special posts coming up, I just post when I'm inspired!
That's a great way of blogging! Lastly, I've read on your blog that you like random facts! Could you please leave us with one?
It's still illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas day because of a law set by Oliver Cromwell that hasn't been removed yet!
Oh dear, well I hope the police don't come knocking for me then! I can't imagine not eating mince pies on Christmas day! (not that I do that of course. It's illegal!) Thank you so much for agreeing to be interviewed Jess. It's been great to have the chance to get to know you a little better!

We hope you enjoyed this interview. I'm planning on interviewing many more bloggers as it's a great way to get the word out about their awesome blogs and get to know the amazing bloggers behind them a bit better!
