Lush Karma Komba Shampoo bar review

Hello!
How are you?

I mentioned in my haul post yesterday that I'd had a sneaky little visit into Lush before meeting my mumma for lunch + shopping but I didn't say what I'd gone in to get! Well, as you can see from the title, it was one of my favourite shampoo bars: Karma Komba. With my 'no poo' hair care going well, I thought, why not give my hair even more of a treat and karma Komba was, of course, the only way to go! Plus, it gave me an excuse to finally be able to do a review on this lovely bar.

Karma Komba has Lush's signature 'karma' scent, is vegan and packed full of natural ingredients.

Lush claim: This packaging-free soap gently cleans your hair, while the essential oils of lemongrass, sweet orange, lavandin, pine and patchouli soothe the scalp and scent your tresses. Elemi oil balances the sebum, the natural oil you produce.

The scent is what first drove me to buying this shampoo bar. Karma is Lush's signature scent and I absolutely adore it. It's earthy and fresh and while not for everyone; it is definitely for me! You can rub the bar between your hands and then apply to wet hair or you can, like me, directly rub it onto your hair. You only need about 3-5 rubs for the bar to really foam up meaning it lasts for forever! After rinsing and drying I find it leaves my hair smelling of karma, looking fresh and feeling clean + smooth. The Elemi Oil is of course perfect for 'no poo' as the whole idea is to get your scalp producing just the right amount of oil to keep itself clean and healthy in between washes! I'll probably be using Karma once or twice a week at the most alongside my DIY Shampoo + conditioner treatment (which you can make yourself by clicking here

I think this bar is perfect for people doing 'no poo' hair care and people with hair prone to oiliness. I wouldn't recommend it so much for people who have dry hair though as it does have a tendency to make dry hair drier.

Have you tried karma komba?
What is your favourite Lush scent?

Thanks for reading!
Until next time,

  2. I've never tried a Lush shampoo bar because I always dismissed them as being too much of a fuss, but I might just pop in and see if any of the scents appeal to me Xx

    1. ahh I used to think that too but once I bit the bullet I found they really are much easier as they last so long and take up so little space! I think Jumping Juniper has a lovely scent, like lavender :)

  3. I'm currently using their Seanik shampoo bar and I love it, I can't imagine ever going back to a regular shampoo again! Mine is almost running out though and I do love their Karma scent, so I might have to pick this one up next
