Barry M flawless matte finish foundation review

Hello!
How are you?

So about a month ago now I purchased Barry M's Flawless Matte finish foundation in the lightest shade lf1 (ivory) and as I've been using it a little while now, I thought it was about time I did a review!

Firstly, I really love this foundation. The colour match, as you can see, is pretty much perfect for me and blends incredibly nicely with my pale skin tone. Unfortunately, there are only 5 shades available from ivory-tan which I find a little bit frustrating as Barry M have created such a nice formula here that it would be fab if they'd cater for a wider range of skin tones.

As far as the consistency goes, it's a very light formula, creamy but not sticky, hydrating and incredibly blend- able. On the skin it feels more like a light tinted moisturiser or BB cream rather than foundation, making it perfect for days out in the summer sun. In fact, it's so blend-able that you don't look like you're wearing foundation, it's pretty much undetectable.

The formula is oil free and contains soothing moisturisers with skin healing properties. I can't say if the foundation has helped my skin for sure, as I haven't really detected any change. However I can definitely say it hasn't broken me out, so a big thumbs up on that front!

The coverage is light but if you leave it 5 minutes and apply another layer, you'll find it gives you a nice medium coverage that covers redness and light marks well. If you have any dark spots you'd like covering: this won't do the trick, it is not high coverage and so you'll still need concealer. However, I quite like that about this foundation: it isn't cakey or mask like but instead leaves a nice matte finish base (as promised) to build upon.

As far as price goes, this foundation retails for £5.99 in the UK which is pretty good for 30g of foundation, plus to my delight, it has a pump. I honestly believe pumps should be a compulsory thing, you lose so much product without one! The packaging is plain but pretty and very similar to Benefits Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation.

If you'd like to try out this cruelty free foundation for yourself, you can do so here.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

  1. I'm currently using this foundation too and it's a great formula. I also have it in the lightest shade which is a nearly perfect match. I hope Barry M expands their foundation line as I'd love one with a higher coverage. Saying that, I wore this on my wedding day and I think it did a pretty good job! :) xxx
