A pop of colour

I don't know about some of you, but when it comes to my everyday makeup, I have a habit of shying away from colour and instead find myself opting for neutral, earthy tones. While I do like to try to incorporate colour into my night time/ going out looks; I've recently made it my mission to try and add a little more colour into my daytime makeup, after all: it is summertime!

I think a great way to add a 'pop of colour' is to use a colourful shadow underneath your lower lash line. It immediately draws attention to and brightens the eyes making for a look perfect for Summer. I think adding colour underneath the eye is a great idea for those who are just starting out with brighter shades and perhaps find the idea of bold lips or full on colourful eyes a little out of their comfort zone. Plus, for daytime, especially this time of year, I think just a little pop of colour is enough for a vibrant, summery look that's still casual, relaxed and won't run all down your face in the heat!

For this look I simply applied my eye makeup as usual however instead of taking a taupe or brown underneath the lower lash line, I opted for a pretty pink shade applying with a cotton bud and lightly blending out. I love how adaptable this look is as you can easily swap the pink for any colour you fancy, or three and it can be as bold or as subtle as you like.

So, how do you like to incorporate colour into your everyday looks? I'd love to know!

I hope you're having a wonderful week

  1. This looks stunning, I am inspired to do something like this xxx

    1. Thank you Jessica! This would look so gorgeous on you :o)

  2. Really love this look! I'm the same with keeping to neutrals most of the time. I usually add the colour with a lip product. Have a great weekend! :) xxx
